I was living the American Dream –– technically. With a loving husband and growing children, my life seemed complete, yet I couldn’t shake the feeling of unfulfillment in my work.
There is something humbling about going through a difficult situation early in life that forces you to build character—quickly. My childhood, though, wasn’t challenging. Growing up in Estacada, Oregon was sweet, and I thought I wanted to be a nurse. That ambition led me to Alaska, where I enrolled in nursing school, but I quickly realized that my heart was more drawn to business than medicine.
When I returned to Oregon, I got married and had my first child, Carson. However, that marriage was short-lived, and at just 21 years old, I found myself about to be a single mother. It was a humbling experience, not just emotionally but socially—everyone in town knew about it. I had no choice but to buckle up and persevere.
To provide for Carson, I worked as a house manager for a couple of years. It was a great fit for me since I love children, but eventually, I transitioned to my mother and father’s manufacturing company. I started from the bottom and worked my way up to manager. Around that time, I met Terry and a year later we got married. I used to laugh at the fact that by age 24, I had already been married twice. Terry has been a great partner and together we have welcomed two more children: Ashton and Reese.
After Reese was born, I hit a wall. The cubicle job that had been stable and predictable suddenly felt suffocating. I knew I needed a change, but I wasn’t sure what that looked like.
Terry and I had found a home that was in foreclosure. I had basically taken the reins in the home-buying process: I got ahold of the bank and hounded them until they allowed me to make an offer on the house. They informed me that I still needed a licensed agent to help with the paperwork and officially submit our offer. We contacted our friend and real estate agent, Kip, who helped us sell our home before, to help us through the process – and unknowingly planted a seed. “You know,” he told me, “I think you’d be a really great REALTOR®.”
Encouraged by Kip and fueled by my desire for a fresh start, I got my license in 2015 and hit the ground running – I closed several transactions in my first year! I thought “Oh, this is fun” and nearly a decade later, I’m still going strong. I love getting to know my clients, helping them find their homes, and celebrating their milestones.
Outside of real estate, my world revolves around my family, and yes, I’m obsessed with my kids. We like to do anything that is outdoors and adventurous – snowboarding, water skiing, boating, hiking, snowmobiling—you name it. I also own a wine bar; I love spending time there and hosting tastings. And when it comes to love, the second time was the charm. I’m a hopeless romantic and after all these years, Terry and I still organize date nights–one of my favorites being a night out on a boat.
Giving back to the community matters to me. I volunteer as an assistant coach for the EHS volleyball team and organize local events—like our annual Fourth of July parade, Oktoberfest, Uncorked and Christmas tree lighting.
From single motherhood to career shifts, from uncertainty to success, I wouldn’t change a thing. Real estate isn’t just a job—it’s my calling, and I’m just getting started!
I find joy in meeting people and building new connections. I view helping clients transition into new life stages as a privilege and prioritize clear communication to ensure they feel informed and supported throughout the process. I adapt to their preferred communication style and always put their best interests first, respecting budgets and boundaries.
